Mishkat Celebrates Winning the Big Idea’s Best Creative Project Award on “Last Drop”
The GSCA have recently celebrated Mishkat Interactive Center, “One of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy Initiatives”, on winning the Best Creative Project (Big Idea) for “Last Drop” film and its accompanying programs.
The mission of Giant Screen Cinema Association (GSCA) is to facilitate communication, knowledge exchange and the development of the best practices to support the production and presentation of high quality, educational and entertaining mega-screen experiences.
The educational film “Last Drop” – which narrates the story of water between the past and the present – emphasizes on the importance of water in our daily life, the challenges facing Saudi Arabia in supplying of clean water. As well as its’ relation with the need for energy and its potential for energy supply generated from renewable and sustainable sources.
The film focuses on the role of science and modern technologies in addressing the problem of water scarcity around the region and engaging the next generation in facing these challenges in accordance with Vision 2030. That aligns with opening of the largest desalination plant with a production capacity of more than one million cubic meters of potable water per day, in addition to a production capacity estimated at 2,400 MW of electricity.
It is worth mentioning that “Last Drop” is targeting middle and secondary levels to spread the culture of sustainable energy in the educational society in KSA, as well as to reinforce the abilities of the young generation in these fields.
