Mishkat Interactive Center a Key Part of First International Science Center & Science Museum Day

 

In the largest joint project ever launched by the world’s science centers and museums, Mishkat Interactive Center will join 250+ other institutions and hundreds of thousands of people on every inhabited continent to celebrate the first International Science Center & Science Museum Day (ISCSMD) on Thursday, November 10.

 

We were honored as Mishkat Interactive Center, An initiative of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, to be one of the scientific centers that participated in the celebration around the world of the first International Scientific Centers and Scientific Museums Day for peace and development, launched by the World Organization UNESCO in collaboration with the International Council of Museums. We are always keen on the involvement of such substantial events, which we consider as main goals to take part in to spread awareness of the culture of modern concepts in sustainable energy usage, transition and its’ presence in our daily life. Our center participated with 8of the main objectives in this project, which includes: construct a flexible infrastructure, innovation encouragement, ensure a healthy life and promote well-being for all, enhance learning opportunities, achieve gender equality, ensure access to sustainable energy sources at affordable prices, strengthen the means of implementation and stimulate the global partnership for sustainable development. To conclude, our center offers many associated events and activities inside or outside the exhibition, such as school visits to provide scientific presentations, foreign participations, conferences and international forums to achieve what the world seeks regarding sustainable development.

The activities that was presented at Mishkat Interactive Center and locations around the world represent a united international effort to raise awareness and encourage action towards global sustainability, focusing on the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which seek to end poverty, fight inequalities, and tackle climate change, while ensuring that no one is left behind.
